Laurence Ris - Project Coordinator
Dr. Laurence Ris is a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Mons and coordinator of the AI4Brain project. Her work bridges neuroscience, clinical research, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on improving mental and neurological healthcare. She also serves as President-Elect of the IIS MedResyst initiative, fostering innovation across medical systems in Europe.
Giovanni Briganti
Prof. Giovanni Briganti is Chair of AI and Digital Medicine at the University of Mons and a physician-scientist specializing in psychiatry and medical data science. His research focuses on applying artificial intelligence to mental health, with a particular interest in precision psychiatry and network-based modeling. He is a leading figure in digital health innovation in Belgium and plays a key role in the AI4Brain project.
Saïd Mahmoudi
Prof. Saïd Mahmoudi is a computer vision and machine learning expert, currently full Professor at UMONS and president of the UMONS research institute InforTech. His research focuses on medical image analysis, deep learning, and AI applications in healthcare, particularly in brain MRI segmentation and diagnostic modeling. Within AI4Brain, he contributes to the development of AI architectures for neurodegenerative disease detection and classification.

His research focuses on audio analysis, human-computer interaction, and AI-driven technologies for speech and sound. Within AI4Brain, he contributes his expertise to the development of multimodal and interpretable AI systems for clinical applications.
